Meet Gina Quiles, an Independent Travel Agent that specializes in All-Inclusive Travel in the Carribean and Mexico. Gina is passionate about honeymoons and romantic vacations, destination weddings, family and group travel. Gina is a certified Orlando expert. Disney World and Universal Studios vacation packages are right up her ally. "My services are free of charge to anyone."
Gina is also a Market Partner for Monat (Modern Nature). The products are naturally based, vegan hair care and skincare that also includes a wellness line. Monat hair care is the very first anti aging hair care that promotes hair growth and restores hair from the inside out.
What is your goal for the next year?
My goal is to be able to open up more travel for the new year. With the current conditions I have put most of my previous year bookings on hold. Growing my clientele and meeting new faces in Lawrence. I am new to the area, it's been tough with social distancing but it's also gotten me to think outside the box in ways to meet others.
Who has influenced you the most?
It's hard to choose just one since both have influenced me so much but my mom and grandma have shown me what great work ethic is having owned businesses of their own.
What one piece of advice do you give to other business owners?
Always surround yourself with like minded individuals that will be your support and help push you to your full potential.
When you are not working, what are you doing?
Pre-COVID: Out spending time with family and friends, traveling, exploring coffee shops, home projects or out looking through local plant shops for plants I don’t need. Nowadays a lot of staying home and working on home projects.
What Lawrence hidden gem do you recommend everyone checks out?
I don’t feel like I've had much of a chance to find a true “hidden gem” yet since we moved during COVID but I have found a lot of great places. A few of my top places so far are: Uplift Coffee, they have the coolest outdoor area with live music. If you are a hardcore coffee drinker like my sigificant other The Scone Lady’s Coffee Shop has a killer Americano. Jungle House is my favorite plant shop and I'm sure everyone else's. Ding Tea, if you have never had a boba tea you have to go see what it's all about.
If you could change one thing about your business, what would you change?
If I could make travel more affordable I would. Not everyone can afford a nice vacation out of the country or out of their state. Taking self time and family vacations to places you have never been before is so rewarding and life changing. So I would like to start a blog for affordable places to travel whether it just be out of town or a neighboring state to help those experience travel of some sort.
With Monat I wouldn’t change a thing. The company is already geared towards gratitude and giving back. That's what I love most about the business.
