Meet Victoria (Tori) Perdue, a realtor and one of the owners of KB Painting LLC. Tori is a realtor with Keller William Integrity. She also owns KB Painting, a painting contracting company here in Lawrence.
What is your goal for the next year?
My goal this year is to leverage the ways in which my two companies together can help homeowners. Whether it's painting and fixing up a home to sell, or purchasing and renovating a home, I am able to assist the entire way, creating a seamless path to my client’s real estate goals.
Who has influenced you the most?
I started listening to a podcast called “Being Boss” at the start of my entrepreneurship, which talked about the real-life, everyday challenges of running your own business. I felt like they provided the stepping stones of how to go about it all. Then one day they had a guest speaker named Jay Pryor, who happened to live right here in Lawrence. Jay’s classes have opened my eyes to see how your mindset can dramatically impact your success and happiness.
What one piece of advice do you give to other business owners?
Never stop educating yourself. There is always more to learn and new ways to grow. If you have read every book in your industry, venture into other industries. Surround yourself with people more knowledgeable and more successful than you. Then don’t try to reinvent the wheel, consistently use the systems and tools you have learned to move you forward.
When you are not working, what are you doing?
When I’m not working, I’m spending time with my family, my husband Randy and our two little ones Olivia (5) and Benjamin (1). And when I have some time to myself, I paint abstract art. I find it to be meditative, clearing my mind from all the stresses of the day. Perduestudio.com
What Lawrence hidden gem do you recommend everyone checks out?
I have to give a shout out to Amanda Travels who planned a dream vacation to Italy for my husband and me. It was everything we didn’t know we wanted and we let her handle all the planning. She is amazing and took all the stress out of traveling. With staying home so much lately, that trip has been on my mind!
If you could change one thing about your business, what would you change?
I wish I would have gotten serious about goal setting and breaking my goals down into actionable items sooner. It's easy to get bogged down in the big picture when setting big goals. I’ve learned growth is all about big goals and small tasks done day over day.
