Lawrence Lady Boss | AMY HILGER
LADY BOSS PROFILE
Meet Amy Hilger of Wildfire Ink Calligraphy. Amy creates custom pieces for individuals and events, such as signs, envelope addressing, heirloom vows, and family trees. "I love to create personalized keepsakes that people will treasure for years to come."
What is your goal for the next year?
I hope to make Wildfire Ink more than a side gig. To be honest, the pandemic has really taken the wind out of my sails this year and has dramatically changed where I thought I would be taking my business. I'm finding the need to pivot like so many others.
My favorite thing to make recently has been heirloom family trees. I hope to focus more on special projects like that in the next year.
Who has influenced you the most?
From an artistic standpoint, I admire and aspire to have the skill and craft of a handful of creatives on instagram, like Shasta Bell, Angela Mondloch, and Suzanne Cunningham.
What one piece of advice do you give to other business owners?
I'm probably not the one to ask for business advice. Haha. I'm still trying to figure out my own. The lesson I'm currently trying to learn is to focus more intentionally on one idea at a time.
When you are not working, what are you doing?
You can catch me outside in the sunshine (when it's nice), cuddling with my great dane, listening to an enneagram podcast, or if I'm honest-- scrolling social media while bingeing Great British Baking Show on Netflix.
What Lawrence hidden gem do you recommend everyone checks out?
Jungle House is one of my favorite spots in town!
If you could change one thing about your business, what would you change?
I'd love to collaborate with other creatives more. I'm a major introvert, so it's really difficult to put myself out there. However it's always been a lot of fun working with other people!
