Meet Starra Anh Zweygardt, the owner of Starrdust Photography. Starra specializes in portrait, event, and sports photography. Starra also serves as the Program Director and an Instructor at Premier Martial Arts! Both businesses are based out of Lawrence.
What is your goal for the next year?
My current goal is to generate more business for Starrdust Photography and venture into the world of food styling! I would ideally love to find work with a food publication such as Food and Wine, Cooks Illustrated etc.
Who has influenced you the most?
I have been a martial arts student since I was 6 (I am 22 and a KU grad now), my instructors from Premier Martial Arts have consistently been a positive influence in my life. They have helped me achieve personal goals with training and instructing. They have always given me the confidence to pursue other ventures outside of the dojo.
What one piece of advice do you give to other business owners?
Surround yourself with people who respect you and enjoy your company. Building a positive network in your personal life is equally as important as creating one in your professional life.
When you are not working, what are you doing?
I am currently working towards earning my 5th degree black belt! I have been spending time training at the dojo as well as implementing outside workout regimens. I also enjoy cooking, listening to Taylor Swift, and taking photographs for personal works.
What Lawrence hidden gem do you recommend everyone checks out?
Ooh that is a hard one... I am not sure if it is actually considered as "hidden" but the new cafe inside Sunflower Bike Shop is super cool!
If you could change one thing about your business, what would you change?
Aside from wishing I had more clients at the moment ha ha... I am in the process of rebranding Starrdust Photography; making some overall design changes to the website, business cards etc.
