Meet Kate White, an Independent Sales Agent also called an Account Executive for CEK Insurance. CEK Insurance is the oldest Independent Insurance Agency in Lawrence. Kate specializes in property & casualty insurance. Kate also handles business insurance including Business owners policies, Commercial Auto, Liability, & Workers Compensation. "Our Benefit plans include Life, Disability, Employee Benefits, Medical, Dental, Long Term Care & Retirement services."

What is your goal for the next year?

I would like to grow my business and clientele in Lawrence and surrounding areas.

Who has influenced you the most?

Hands down, my Mother❤ She taught me that women are strong and we can have a career while valuing family – one does not have to come before the other to be happy and successful. 

What one piece of advice do you give to other business owners?

You get what you put in.

When you are not working, what are you doing?

My husband calls me the Cruise Director for our family. Soccer practices, games, dance, piano lessons, volunteering and community events – we are a family on the move. We keep busy and I try to keep us all on schedule.

What Lawrence hidden gem do you recommend everyone checks out?

The Lawrence hidden gem is in your own backyard or neighborhood. If COVID has taught me anything it is to value the space you are in and explore that space.

If you could change one thing about your business, what would you change?

Our industry always has moving parts so it changes on its own. Insurance carriers are always changing rates, services and coverages so my job is to stay educated of those changes and keep my clients informed and educated on what their policy is doing for them.
