Lawrence Lady Boss | AMANDA GREGORY

 LADY BOSS PROFILE

Meet Amanda Gregory, the founder of Lawrence Lady Boss Project and the blogger behind Somewhere Over the Camo. Amanda founded this project in February of 2019 to bring together business owners, bloggers, photographers, and other female creatives to network and connect. Since creation, Lawrence Lady Boss Project has hosted 5 Networking Night Outs (one being virtual), hosted and participated in several other Lawrence area events, donated money to local causes and featured over 40 local female business owners. Amanda established Lawrence Lady Boss Project after years of moving around at the whims of the Army and her husbands military career. Each new duty station came with an opportunity to network with new people and she always looked to the fellow bloggers she had met throughout the years and their advice. When Amanda and her family settled in Lawrence she found herself traveling to Kansas City to attend creative events and network with fellow bloggers so she created Lawrence Lady Boss Project to bring that connection closer to home and the rest is history.
What is your goal for the next year?
To continue to grow Lawrence Lady Boss Project and find new ways to support Lawrence lady business owners. I would also LOVE to get back to regularly documenting our life on the blog.
Who has influenced you the most?
Honestly, I am influenced everyday by the wonderful business owners I come across. Each of them took their dream and made it a reality and kick butt doing so.
What one piece of advice do you give to other business owners?
I am a huge advocate for finding and growing your network. There is strength in numbers. There is an immeasurable strength in a group of women supporting each other.
When you are not working, what are you doing?
I do Lawrence Lady Boss Project in my spare time because my primary job is being a stay-at-home mom to our three little girls. But you can probably find me reading!
What Lawrence hidden gem do you recommend everyone checks out?
If you have kids, I highly recommend malulakidsresale downtown. The owner is very passionate about what she does and it shows in her space.
If you could change one thing about your business, what would you change?
The competition side of blogging is what I would love to see go. When I first started blogging back in 2010 it was all about just sharing your story. These days it is about sharing about what is hot, having the most followers and being the most interesting. It is exhausting. For me, blogging is about sharing about our family and life. I keep it old school and I try not to stress over numbers. But it is a challenge to keep going sometimes.
